Car Stereos: No sound, gmc sierra, dash unit

I just purchased a Dual xdvd8285 in dash unit for my 2004 gmc sierra 1500 and when i got done connecting all the wires i plugged it in to make sure it worked but no sound would emit. I went back to check the wires and tried it again but no luck. Do you have any idea what to do?

Did you purchased the recomended wiring harness for your vehicle? that pick up takes a especial harness to be able to keep some functions on your vehicle, does it have a factory premioum sound or a bose system, if it does you can try to conect the blue-white wire coming from the radio to the blue- white coming off the aftermarket harness that wire its the amp remote turn on and to be able to get sound you need to turn on the factory amplifiers.
