Car Stereos: 2002 Jeep Liberty w/Infinity 6 speaker premium sound system., tweeter components, alpine speakers

Question
Ed, help!  Old man with 0 knowledge this area.  I purchased an extremely nice 2002 Jeep Liberty for my daughter (17).  Audio system speakers are BLOWN!. Went to national chain with squad of geeks and purchased new Alpine, SPS 600C 6.5" woofers with/1" tweeter components for front doors and dash, and SPS 600 6.5" coaxial speakers for rear doors. Also, purchased speaker mats and arranged for car audio squad of geeks to install.  While waiting for installation, top geek called to advise could not do the work.  Had the doors opened up and turns out factory install is Infinity 2 ohm (with magnet about size of a dime) speakers with/attached (as in manufactured not bolted) amplifier on each speaker.  If replace will not get the proper volume out of any speakers.  He advised that the speakers look proprietary to Chrysler from Infinity.  No model number to be found.  Have searched the web 2 days now.  Lots of problems listed about these speakers, but no solutions.  Dealer wants $180 neighborhood for each. Not at all interested in that kind of investment for the same type of problem.  Do you know a model # for this item so I can at least search?  Also, I can find not contact telephone number or e-mail for Infinity.  Are they a wholesale to auto dealer only outfit?  Please suggest a solution.  I'm trying to stay under $300 - $350.  This is not for competitions.  Just for a High School senior to be able to listen to her music without a kazoo attached.

Thanks,

Answer
Hello James.

(888)-584-5678 its the electronic lane phone #, Infinity distribuitor.

Also, there is no direct replacement for the dash tweeter your factory tweeter size does not match any aftermarket size exacly,

This is what you need to do, take the alpine speakers that you bought back, and get new infinity (aftermarket) 2ohm speakers 6 3/4"
have the people from a certified car audio shop install the amplifiers directly onto the new speakers individually, the only bad thing about these speakers its they are kinda pricey, if you want a cheaper solution to your problem, get an aftermarket radio, take those factory speakers out and replace them with the coaxials that you already have, run speaker wires inside the doors and bypass the factory amplifiers (you wont get the same quality sound by doing this) and connect the speakers direclty to the aftermarket head unit. It might be the same on both cases because of the labor cost, unless you plan on doing it yourself.
I wish there was something else to do, but thats all i can think of.

Regards.

Ed.
