Car Stereos: bose car stereo system, car stereo system, laser cleaning

Thank you Justin.  my infiniti 2001 came with Bose audio system.  I have owned the car 2 years with no problems. recently CD's will not play indicating error 2.  After cleaning CD's, still reads Error 2.  Tried laser CD cleaning disk, which also reads Error 2 when installed.  What can I do?

Hi Jill,

If you've tried cleaning discs and a laser cleaning disc, your only options remaining are to pull the deck open and gently clean the laser with a q-tip and a VERY SMALL amount of rubbing alcohol.  Allow it to dry itself (don't use anything to dry it as it'll leave remnants), and then put it back.  If that doesn't work, you're likely looking at replacement as the laser may have died.
