Car Stereos: Blaupunkt Honolulu CD50 Display, toyota corolla, electronics technician

QUESTION: I have a Blaupunkt Honolulu CD50 player installed in my 1997 Toyota Corolla. One day, whilst in operation, the usually bright LCD display suddenly went dim and remained that way. I checked the fuse but it was ok. All connections seemed fine. Please suggest a solution/diagnosis

ANSWER: When you say "dim" do you mean there is "some" illumination in the display, or none at all?

ANSWER: If only a portion of the display is not illuminating, it means there is either a bulb or an LED not functioning. It needs to be taken to a electronics technician for repair.

I reviewed the manual for that deck and can't find any indication of a dimmer feature on that deck. It's possible that the manual is dated. Maybe have a look at yours to see if there's an update on the manual that shows if there is an adjustment on that.
