Car Stereos: battery light flickers since i got a cd player install, light flickers, mercury cougar

I have a 99 mercury cougar and my battery light flickers since i got my cd player installed. What's up with that?

Could be any number of things that are causing that, most likely it's due to a ground problem. Take it back to the shop that installed it and show them. There should be a good ground from the deck to the dash steel chassis. This happens a lot with Fords when installers use the antenna as the primary deck ground.
If that doesn't solve it, I'd have the deck tested to see if it's drawing copius amounts of power... I doubt that is the case as it should blow the fuse before it draws that much power.
Other than that, I'd say that the two issues may be unrelated. Have your charging system checked by a battery shop or licensed mechanic.
