Answer
Hi Aimee!
I will TRY to help you, though I am in America, you know, that place across the pond where all those obnoxious Yankees live.  So I don't have a lot of insight into your education system.  I know it's somewhat different from ours.

The most important thing to remember though , is to stay in school for as long as you can.  The more education you have, the faster will be your advance.  In the meantime, mathematics, physics and design courses will be important, As will courses in all the sciences. Then there are trade schools, apprenticeships , and other arrangements to pursue.   Some skills become important, One I enjoyed was learning electric welding.  It is a challenging motor skill, and requires a lot of concentration to master it.  you will find it invaluable later on , and it's better to learn it when very young.

If you want to be around racing,(my main interest) you need to start associating yourself with the sport as soon as you can.  Go to a Go Kart track, and take lessons.  Learn the skills needed by a race driver and if you like it, keep at it.  Nearly everyone in Formula One started in Go Karts.   Note that in Formula One, they probably also started with several million pounds at their disposal, but the skills are important too.

Finally - - READ, subscribe to motoring magazines,  There are several in Britain that are good. Do a Google search for  motor sports periodicals in Great Britain, and then find them at your library.  No need to buy them if the library is close.

That is all I can think of at the moment, but I'd be honored if you thought to ask more. Please feel free to write.

Sincerely
Dan Liddy
