Questioni hope im asking the right person, what is the all out world record quarter mile time, as in the fastest ever recorded time, and what car was it done in? and, what is faster, a sprint car, or a drag car, as far as accelleration and top speed r concerned?
AnswerHi Jake. Your first question is directed at the wrong person. I don't follow drag racing at all anymore, though I know 1/4 mile times are in the mid 4 second range, and top speeds of 330 MPH are fairly common.
As to the second question, the drag car would have to be faster in both accelleration and top speed, but they are doing two entirely different kinds of racing . Sprint cars are designed to race around an oval track, and accelerate like mad to the next corner. As such, they might get up to 130 MPH or so, but a big part of the racing involves the car's ability to go around a corner fast , which is something that a drag car simply wont do . So there is really no basis for a comparison
