BMW Repair: BMW Code P0491 & P0492, obd fault codes, jiffy lube

Question
I have a 2001 BMW 530with 90k miles on it. I just had it serviced with new plugs, etc.. Yesterday my service engine light came on. Today I took the car to a Jiffy Lube and the guy was nice enough to hook up his reader to it and tell me the codes were p0491 and p0492.  He cleared the light also.  My question is:  Is this something I could fix myself or do I need to go back to the dealer?  Also, maybe it wasn't a good idea to just clear the light, but my thought was if it was bad...it would come on again?  Am I ok with that thought?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Sam,
I am sorry, but P0491 and P0492 is not in my list of BMW or OBD fault codes. Can you recall the descriptions?
In answer to your question of whether it was right to clear or not to clear the faults, I would normally not clear a fault not until diagnosis or repair is done to address it. Or at least, you know full details about the fault (like the description I am asking from you now). But it is not a big deal... since as you say, if it is really bad, it will come back.
I can't answer whether you can do the repair or if it is best to go back to dealer not until I know the fault descriptions.
