BMW Repair: Windscreen wiper just stopped working 1999 323si Auto transmission, windscreen wipers, wiper motors

Hi
My windscreen wipers have just packed in, is this normal? Also, sometimes when driving and turning a corner the car just cuts out and I have to put it in neutral so it rolls and restart the engine. My brother reckons its the air/ petrol mix/ filter.
What do you think?

Lucie, Most common problem I see with our wiper motors are sticking relays. Check the relay or swap another relay from a different circuit that looks the same. Try tapping on the motor itself. Check and see if it has power and ground at the motor when activated. As for the car stalling out check for torn intake boots or a clogged idle valve just above the throttle body.
