BMW Repair: 525 2002 Model, terminal post, battery voltage

Question
Hi there,

Whilst driving my car this morning i noticed the aircon stopped cooling. Then i noticed the RPM gauge was stuck to less than 2 irrespective of the speed i went with. Upon reaching my office i parked the car and switched it off - only to realise now that it doesnot start! The doors donot lock and the brake lights donot get switched off. Have even tried to lock with the key and doesnot work.

The battery seems to be fine with lights able working & alll but can't make head or tail of whats happening.

Answer
Raveen, almost sounds like an alternator not charging. Find a Voltmeter and someone who knows how to use it and measure battery voltage. Jump start the car and let it run for a minute. Disconnect the cable and Remeasure battery voltage. Check the battery year stamp on the negative battery terminal post if it is an original White BMW battery.
