BMW Repair: Fan blower random, minute lube, fan blower

I have a 2001 325i with 110k miles. Got an oil service done on past sunday first time in a 'fast oil change' place. So you can put me in the category that i can't do oil changes myself. Now after that my fan/blower basically is uncontrollable. It changes speed automatically and randomly. The display of the blower speed remains the same. Sometimes it goes back to the set speed and then the control works for a while. But again it goes back to blowing hard and nothing seems to work. It oscillates the speed from low to highest and vice versa with no apparent pattern. Pressing the 'Auto' button also doesn't work (unless for that short duration where the controls do work). What can I do?

Bik, please use only 5w-30 FULL synthetic oil (7quarts for your motor). Do not use the 10 minute lube and tune crap oil. I would have the oil changed at a reputable shop. Don't cheap out you own a BMW now. As for your Blower fan the final stage resistor has failed. You have two choices take the car to a dealer and have the resistor replaced or buy the resistor online and take the instructions from my post to 'Doug' on 8/24/06 and find a good local BMW mechanic.
