BMW Repair: blower motor resistor, blower motor resistor, gauge wires

Question
I have a 1997 328i thr blower resistor makes noise when you first start the car and at times the blower does not work. Is the resistor hard to replace? Thanks for your help. Doug

Answer
Doug, How do you know it is the resistor making the noise? Well anyway Repair instruction show removing the driver's knee bolster panel and the resistor is visible with a four wire connector with large gauge wires. It plugs into the side of the heater box. Pull to remove.
