BMW Repair: wont start, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
I have a 2000 323ci i havnt drivin it or started it in one month, and it wont start i charged the battery which is basicaly brand new and it still wont start but it spins over what could be causing this?

Answer
Luis, does it spin over fast or slow? If it cranks over at normal speed the check for fuel. Remove a vacuum line and give it a small spray of starter fluid or brake cleaner in the intake or intake duct. If it starts to fire up or sputter then you have a fuel issue. If not then remove the passenger side engine cover (two 10mm nuts) remove an ignition coil and a spark plug and with them both connected to each other hold the plug against a good engine ground and look for spark as someone else cranks the motor. If spark is missing then you have narrowed your problem. If you have a good spark then reinstall. Take a very long socket extension and a hammer and tap the body of the idle valve. It is very difficult to access but you can do it if you can find it. Look at the intake hose after the mass air flow sensor that goes under neath the intake manifold, It will have a little hose that branches off the main mass air to throttle body intake hose. This little off-shoot hose leads to the aluminum idle air valve located just above the throttle body assembly. Take that long extension and your hammer and tap moderately on the body of the idle valve. Then crank the car over. If it starts up then the idle valve is stuck with carbon, in this case you can remove the valve and clean it with carb cleaner or solvant or replace it. Also check for rodent damage to the wiring harness if you car was sitting like you said.
