BMW Repair: 95 BMW 325is Idle problem, 95 bmw 325is, fuel pressure regulator

Question
1995 325is.  Thought I had a alternator problem but, after charging the battery for 10hours it did not hold a charge.  Put a new battery in, changed oil (since it was due) started up fine.  After engine warmed up idle became erratic (up and down) and then would stall.  Engine light goes on and off during this time but does not remain on.  Unable to get any codes to show.

Answer
Well most times a flashing check engine light means a catalytic converter damaging fault.Check the fuel pressure,it should be what is written on the fuel pressure regulator(about 3 bar).If it is too high it will cause excessive fuel delivery by the injecters.
