BMW Repair: 1988 325 BMW starting problem, 325 bmw, simple tune

Question
Josh,
When I start my car it starts, but then I very quickly have to step on the gas to keep the car running(idling).  If I don't pump the gas it dies.  It does this all the time no matter if I haven't driven it for a day, or if I start it and drive for awhile, turn it off to run into the convenience store, then try to start it again.  The car has approx. 90,000 miles on it. Please help as I am afraid of getting stranded somewhere.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Answer
Stephanie,
This could be one of several things, and to be honest I would need to be there in person to really fix the car correctly.  The best bet for you is to take it to a trustworthy mechanic that is not going to take advantage of you.
It sounds like a simple tune-up could fix the problem... but I'm not 100% sure without seeing the car.

If you have more specific problems, I can probably help you better.

 Hope this helps,
 Josh
