GMC Repair: GMC 2002 ENVOY, fan clutch, light pop

Question
Around two days ago, my wife's car had a light pop up stating that the engine needs to be serviced soon. Now there is another light coming on that states, reduced engine power. Now the Envoy won't move. A few months ago is stated the same thing. I ended up having to replace the fan, and fan clutch. What could be the reason this time? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Depending on the code stored, it MAY need a PCM. There is a bulletin out for a CERTIAN code setting and the PCM being at fault.
BEFORE I would damn the PCM, though, I would make sure it is THOURGHLY diagnosed properly, and the PCM is updated with all current software.
