GMC Repair: 1990 GMC Sierra wont start, gmc sierra, pink wire

Question
I have a 1990 GMC Sierra that will not start. The engine will turn over but I am not getting any fire. I have replaced the distributer, the ignition coil and the ignition control module, but I am not having any luck. I have had a repair shop look at it and they are stumped too. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi
Is there fire getting into the distributor from the coil?
If so you have a faulty Dist rotor or cap.
If not Make sure the coil is getting hot, I THINK it is a pink wire going into the coil. Also make sure they getting 12v INTO the distributor module (ignition Module) from the coil.
If they are NOT hot, you'll need to follow and see where they are loosing voltage (Ignition switch possible) for coil and the wire/connector for coil or 12v into ignition module)
If the coil IS getting hot you may have a faulty coil or module inside the distributor. I know you've changed them, but it is not totally unheard of them being faulty out of the box! :-)
Also you can check the PCM . Make sure the injector is pulsing. If it IS NOT pulsing you may have a faulty Pole Peice (inside distributor assy) or wiring to PCM or faulty PCM.
I Really hope this helps and if anything else is needed, I'll help If possible.
Good Luck
Paul
