GMC Repair: electrical 93 safari, fusible link wires, fuse block

found heaterblower fryed.replaced.do not have power at fuseblock on 4 circuits,horn/dm,tail lps, ecmb,inst lps.no fuel pump power.no power at headlamp switch. replaced fuelpump 1year ago then had to replace sending unit/harness as it melted the wires. i suspect a relay but where? before i replaced the blower motor 2 other circuits had no power on eihter side of fuse block, guages,turn/bu.

at the opposite end of the POSITIVE battery cable where it supplies power to the vehicle you will see 2 or 3 rubber coated wires vs the normal plastic coated wires. These rubber coated wires are called FUSIBLE LINKS of which are made of a type of aluminum wire internally and are for the protection for the vehicles wiring system.

These FUSIBLE LINK wires are usually about 4 inches long and you neeed to take a standard 12 volt test light and chec for battery voltage at BOTH ends of these fusible links. You may have to open up the plastic ribbed covering that covers all of the wires in order to access the other ends of these fusible links.

If you do NOT have battery voltage at BOTH ends of these fusible links, The link(s) will have to be replaced and the CAUSE found as to WHY the links melted internally.
