Acura Repair: 92 Legend Wont Start, external coils, fuse panel

Question
Hi John,

The engine cut-off suddenly and it would not start again.  I am not sure if water leaking into the cabin along the left side of car where the fuse panel is located has anything to do with the no start. It has no sparks. I have followed a few test procedures according to the Helm Acura Legend Repair Manual and could not pinpoint the problem. The Check Engine light did not register any trouble codes, so I performed the following test procedures and all are OK.

Main Relay
Igniter
Ignition coils
Fuel pump
Power into and out of the ignition switch

I am not sure what other test procedures I need to do. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks.

Answer
its usually the coil. the ohm tests don't mean sh*t on the coil or igniter.
if it has fuel its not the main relay.
igniters are also very common, but the coil is most likely.

problem is deciding between them is not easy. i personally keep a known good one of each and swap them out. less time wasting time trying to figure it out.

if you are willing to go for the gamble buy a cheap coil and see how it goes.

actually, on the other hand...
i dont remember those cars to well, but those are external coils. the externals dont go out near as often. also coils tend to restart when cold then die as they heat up, but not always. i honestly cant give you a magical way to know either way, but i would go so far as to say i promise you it's one of them despite your tests.

if i'm wrong, then i never said that :|.
but please let me know what the final answer is. i do like to know for my own log of problems and fixes.
