American Motors: 66 classic 770 convertible, valve seals, purple cow

Question
At age 71 am I chasing a"Purple COW" in purchasing this with the 232 engine, as a drive and go car? Understand the private party has done a lot on this such as valve seals, stater, alternator, carburetor, dist.cap, ignition coil, etc. Vehicle has won show awards-don!t need fixer upper.  Thanks and thanks for your service!

Answer
Sorry, but I don't know what a "purple cow" is, but I have some suggestions for you.
If you like the car, don't be afraid to buy it, providing you do a few things first.
Have it checked over by your mechanic, just as though you were buying a 2006 used car. Remember that there are a few parts on the 66 that might be difficult to find today. i.e. front trunnions. Another thing, don't let your emotions get in the way of negotiating a good price.
Best of luck with your decision.
