American Motors: Brake differential pressure switch, differential pressure switch, drum brakes

Question
Kevin,
After checking all of the parts houses in my area and not being able to locate a brake differential pressure switch, I am wondering if this switch can be bypassed by removing it and joining the brake lines?  Would this be a serious mistake?
Where can one of these switches be located?  My car is a 1976 AMC Pacer, 6 cyl.  Thank you.

Answer
You should not run your vehicle without that valve. You have disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear. You nees that valve.
Try calling Collier AMC in Pikeville, NC. They are an old AMC dealer and might have a good used valve you can buy. Their number is 919-242-4462. God luck.
