Audio Systems: Bass, honda civic ex coupe, watts rms

Question
hello Ernesto,
I have a 1999 Honda Civic EX coupe and i have just installed two KFC-6982ie Kenwood 6x9's and two TS-D720C pioneer 6.5 inch component speakers. The Kenwood are 90watt RMS each and the Pioneers are 60watt RMS each. I have a aftermarket Kenwood deck as well. Im not sure the model but i do know that its a 200watt deck. My question is, is it really necessary to run an amp to them to get their full potential? my music has alot of bass and i need to get as much bass out of these speakers as i can w/o buying a subwoofer(my parents refuse to buy me one). Thank you for your time.  -Jesse Hernandez

Answer
get a 4 channel amplifier with built in crossover   and if possible 2 more 6x9
so you can have 4 in the rear deck   use 2 channels from the amplifier to run all 4 speakers in the back set the amplifier at 100hz full   use the other two channels in the amplifier for the front speakers set the amp at 250 to 500hz  in high or full

you will be happy make sure the rear speakers positive and negative are correct small mistake in the wiring and will sound like a portable radio

amplifier needs to be 50w to 75 watts rms 4 channels nothing big , but something of a good brand

like kenwood or pioneer

good luck
