QuestionWe have the original AM/FM radio and cassette player with additional CD changer unit in our 2001 Dodge Caravan. All audio equipment was factory installed. We have owned the car for almost 5 years. About a year and a half ago, the CD changer not only stopped working but when we placed a CD in the tray to load, it would cause the radio to not play. Resetting the fuse enabled me to get the radio to return to normal operations.
About a month ago, the radio stopped playing after we inserted a disc into the CD changer. There is power to the unit but no audio comes out. The fuses are good and no matter how many times I removed and reset them from the main fuse box, the radio does not work. There is power to the unit because the clock works. Anyway, I took it to a local repair shop and they replaced the factory equipment with an after market radio. However, they could not get any audio output from the new radio. They told me that they suspect the problem might be in the amplifier but they were not able to find it. The fact that these guys have been in the business for 40 years really concerns me.
Have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any insight you can give.

AnswerWOW they need to close the doors and go home,now you are going to fixt it and show them ho is done
fist thing there is a blue wire from the new radio that will turn on the amplifiers you need to find the infinity wire it is white or brown and it is behind the radio in the main harness.
the relays to turn on the amplifier are on the right side of the radio near the glove box they will click when you send power to them
there is also a fuse for the amplifiers in the engine compartment check them all
in the worse case you didn't find the problem, pill the door cover and speaker there are 4 cables in the plug 2 are audio and the other 2 are power for the amplifier
if you have leather seats there are 2 small speakers in the dash they need to play when the amplifier is off
