Audio Systems: DVD audio ripping to CD., cd burning tools, audio editing program

Question
Hi. I have a system where I can copy VHS to a DVD. Now, I've done it, actually to alot of my VHS's to save them, but, I have a few of the VHS's that were concerts that I put onto DVD. Now, I wanna take the audio from a few of the DVD's I've made from the system, and copy the audio to CD so I can listen to them on a CD player. Would you be able to tell me how I can go about doing this? I was told I need a DVD ripping program and I've tried a few on the computer and none seem to be reading the DVD I've made, from the VHS-DVD transfers. Any help would be GREAT!

Answer
The easiest is with a stand alone CD burner. Audio out of the VCR to audio in of the CD burner. If you are doing it via a PC or Mac you need a sound card that lets you input analog audio, like an MBox. Then you need an audio editing program with the right drivers and settings to retrieve audio from the VCR and save it as a digital Wav or mp3 file to the PC. Preferrably the software should have CD burning tools.
