Audio Systems: Recording live music..., speaker level signal, line level signal

Question
Hello, I'm a fellow expert, just nopt in this catagory. (Damn the luck, lol)

Me and my father have recently opened up a place for musicians to come and play country music on Saturday nights, and naturally, I have come up with the idea of videotaping the shows and selling them. Letting the camera standalone is not BAD sound, but not the greatest... We want to have a fairly good sounding tape. Is there a special camera that we can hook into the musicians sound system and run directly to the camera, or something of the sorts?

Any help would be great man! Thanks!

Answer
well, nearly all camcorders have terrible mics, but near all have a mic input as well.
This is what I would sugest, dont worry about getting/having a camera with a good mic,  instead, concentrate on hooking the camera into your equipment.  I'm sure you guyz are already mic'd, if so, there's a mixer or something that should hand off a mixed version which you can pipe into the camera directly.  if not, you can simply get a mic to attach to the input on the camera.
most cameras have little covers over their connections so just keep poping them off and I'm sure you'll find a mic input on there somewhere.  just remember not to put speaker level signal or even line level signal into this or you could damage the camera.

It would help me alot to know what the equipment you guyz use for the performances.
