Audio Systems: mazda stock radio, alligator clip, stock radio

Question
Trying to pull out the stereo. Stuck the wire in the holes to retract the spings, the cd came out of the player and the unit shut down. Can't get it to power on. All the fuses are good. Is there a anti-theft system at work here?
thanks,

Answer
It has probably failed internally. Remember, many imports use the radio mounting brackets as the ground point, so removing the radio disconnects that. You can add a jumper alligator clip test wire to ground and the case of the radio. If you mean the radio quit BEFORE you removed it, then it has failed internally, and unless it's very new, it will be cheaper to replace with an after market CD player.
