Audio Systems: Stuck, kenwood cd tuner, radio unit

I have a Kenwood CD/Tuner in my vehicle.What can I do to retrieve a stuck CD,it will not play or eject?

Answer
First:  Disconnect power (if it has anti-theft protection, make sure you have the reentry code or you will never be able to use it again).  Disconnecting power for 1/2 hour will reset all the internal electronics.  Best way is to pull the positive cable from the car battery - which will kill power to the entire vehicle.  Other way is to pull all the power wires off the radio unit.

Second: If the reset does not work you may have to pull the unit and take the cover off so you can get inside and find out is something is damage, bent or causing a mechanical hangup.  If nothing looks out of order, it may be the unit has just failed. If the set is a few years old, you may want to just replace it; they don't last long in the harsh environment of an automobile.

Thirdly, if you could give me the year, make and model of the vehicle and/or the make/model of the radio unit it would help me in determining what you are dealing with; they are all different.
