Mazda Repair: electric windows, interior door panel, auto parts store

Question
i have a 1997 mazada xeodus electric window has gone down on drivers side and can not get it to go back up. the button emits a buzzing sound when i try to put is up and all the doors in the car lock automatically is there any way t o get the window up without calling a garage

Answer
I would suspect a bad switch if all of the doors are locking when they are not supposed to, and one of the windows is malfunctioning as well.

If you don't want to call a shop, try taking the interior door panel off. There are generally a couple of screws in the arm rest/handle, one at the door opener lever, and several clips along the bottom of the door. Once the interior panel is off, you will be better able to figure out whether or not the window is mechanically jammed, or if it is indeed a problem with the switch.

You may be able to get a new switch from an auto parts store, but it is likely that they will not stock one. If you can't get one from someone else, contact the dealer. They will definitely have one. If this job seems too big for you, have a shop take care of it.
