Audio Systems: 2004 honda civic door speakers, water bag, frame section

Question
hello i have a 2004 civic ex and i replaced the front door speakers. the new speakers sit too far back and my window hits the speaker and stops when i roll it down. is there any way i could make them sit out a little farther so my window can roll down or should i consider getting different door speakers?

Answer
Always best to have a speaker that fits properly.  That is why I recommend www.crutchfield.com as the guiding light for parts that will fit any car.  They are the king and the supreme experts on what fits and what doesn't.  If you buy from them or not, doesn't matter; they will always give good advice.

To your problem, depends on how much clearance there is; sometimes you can get a little give in the door frame section where the speaker mounts; but only 1/16 of an inch at most.

DO NOT bend the basket of the spaker; the voice coil will rub and you will have bad sound and just have to replace the speaker.

Also, make sure the water bag is in place so water does not get on the cone and distort the paper; same thing as above, too much warping will cause voice coil rubs.

Hope this guides you along!
