Audio Systems: Mitsubishi TV CK-35402, mitsubishi tv, vertical hold

Question
We have a 1994 mfg 35" Mitsubishi Console TV CK-35402. The high voltage board was just replaced at a $400 cost with labor trips. Now the picture is flipping repeatedly - rolling up - like a vertical hold issue. Can you tell us a part # or gestimate of price to repair or if this part even exists anymore or should we cut our losses at this point? Sure was a beautiful TV and would love to repair if economically feasible at this point. Thanks -

Answer
A set this old is not worhty of further repairs.  Unfortunately, if you apply more funds to repairs it will only breakdown again.  Experience tells us that as tvs age they become more prone to failure; once the failure cycle begins you cannot stop it.

If it is a question of vertical hold adjustment, check your manual and find out how to adjust it. If the set has hidden adjustments inside the service mode, call the Mitsu technical department or the people who made the previous repair and ask them how to adjust the vertical hold.

But, again, I cannot recommend you to put much time, effort, aggravation and money into a set this old.
