Audio Systems: Pioneer headunit lights wont turn off??, pioneer indash, pioneer headunit

Hi,
I have a pioneer indash headunit,(AVH-P7550DVD) and the lights on the headunit stay on when i turn off ignition, everything else but the little blue ilumnation lights turn off.
Is this normal or can i fix it? it seems silly to me as it drains battery power,Thanks

Check the power wiring on the unit. I think there are a couple of power leads.  One which stays on all the time and one which is switched from the ignition system of your vehicle.

There may be a link on the back for this, also.  In any event, there are options that make it compatible with the other lighting system of the car.

Do you have the owners manual?  It is explained in your manual. If you have lost it you can download it from the www.pioneerelectronics.com web site.

PS:  I checked the installation instructions (you can download it from Pioneer web) and it does give clear instrucitons on how to connect the power wires and to differentiate between different power amp connections, etc. I think this will clear it up for you if you study it and comply according to your installation/equipment.
