Audio Systems: er 04 message, radio unit, optical pickup

i recently bought a used saturn and it came with a jensen cdh-1000 cd/radio unit in it but every time i try to play a cd it gives me a err 02, 04, or 06 message... is there any way to fix this i really like the unit

Here is the drill on these error codes.  They are caused either by corrupted software codes OR hardware failures.

Way to find out is release the power to the unit for a few minutes.  EIther pull the wires powering the whole unit or just lift the plus terminal from the battery under the hood (although some cars don't like you doing that, so check your car manual first).

The lifting of power will reset the internal codes and restore them to factory settings.

If that does not solve the problem it means a problem exists and the unit will need servicing or replacing.  The codes reflect failures of the laser diode, optical pickup system, digital decoder chip or main controller chip.
