Audio Systems: two amps/hook up, watts rms, componet speakers

Question
Hi,
Ive been running two infinity amps one 4 channel, and one 2 channel. I have some knowledge in stereo systems but just need to be sure about some specifics.
Now, i recently noticed my front two speakers (Infintity references, 6 1/2's) were not playing the music properly. The amp I have hooked up to the four componet speakers is a 4 channel and feeds up to 95 watts rms. Reference speakers cannot handle this amount of wattage (although i dont not have the amp turned all the way up) so i figured i blew them. However, the back two are perfectly fine! the same amount of wattage was fed to all four because the same amp is feeding them.
I have another two channel amp that feeds two infinity 10 inch subs. Im not sure if i have hooked both amps up correctly causing less power to go to the back speakers causing them to be fine while the front two blew.
I have two sets of RCA's (front and rear) being fed to my 4 channel amp from the head unit, then on the amp there is another rca section that says "output" i plug rcas in to here and from the output section plugged them into the 2 channel amp input rca connecters. Everything worked, so i figured i was right. Am i? and if so why did just the front speakers blow?

Answer
Hi Derek!
First (just in case!) make sure that the fronts are blown and that it is not a signal problem by connecting one rear speaker to the channel that feeds the fronts.
The program or music level is not the only cause for a speaker to die, distorsion is another factor, loudspeakers are designed for certain type of spaces, also a defect in the amp could lead to a momentary DC offset wich can kill your speakers.
