Audio Systems: Installation, 2001 chevy prizm, chevy prizm

Question
Hi,

I bought a second hand stereo and amp that came from a 2002 toyota 4runner and am trying to install them in my 2001 chevy prizm. I have figured out most of the wiring, but a few things remain. I have three wires going into the toyota system that do not connect to anything coming out of the chevy. Those wires are the dimmer ground (orange/black), power antenna (blue), and amp turn-on (blue/white) wires. The only wire coming out of the prizm that is not connected to anything is the dash light illumination wire (orange). What I am guessing I should do is to connect the dimmer ground (orange/black) along with the general ground (black) both to the the general ground wire (black) going into the prizm, and to connect the amp turn-on (blue/white) along with the red wire to the ignition switched (red) wire coming from the prizm, and to leave both the power antenna (blue) and dash light illumintaion wire (orange) unconnected.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Answer
Slash,
If you connect the wires as you show in your question you will have problems! Since I don't have a wiring diagram for the connectors for both vehicles you may want to contact your local dealers and ask them for the wiring diagrams.
