Audio Systems: Lincoln Town Car, lincoln town car, auto salvage yard

Question
Hello Tom,
My parents have a 1995 Town car that is in great shape except the tape player no longer works. It has the intergrated stearing wheel controls so I am thinking it will not be so easy to replace. I was hoping to upgrade them to a cd player but have not been able to find out if this is possible. What would you reccomend I do?
Thank You, Joann
P.S. I have tried to get info from Lincoln dealers but they seem to want to sell a new car instead..

Answer
Joann,
The tape player in the Lincoln may only have a broken belt. By far the least costly and easiest way to add a CD player would be to install a CD changer with a small remote control and with this RF type unit all you need to do is to connect the modulator box into the existing stereo antenna wire. If you only want a single indash CD player to replace to factory stereo/tape unit, you may want to stop by an auto salvage yard to inquire if they have a good working CD stereo for your parents vehicle.
