Audio Systems: ERROR CODE - CD CHECKING, cigarette smoke, rubbing alcohol

Hi

My APLINE 6 CD changer has suddendly stopped working and the display is now showing 'CD CHECKING' constantly.

I have removed and replaced the CD's, I have also blown in the Changer unti incase it is dust.

Have you got any solutions or tips on how to get this on the mend again?

The problem may be as simple as a very dirty lense in the CD pick up assembly (don't blow compressed air into the CD assembly, the blast of air if it hits the fragile pick up assembly  may damage the pick up.) You can clean the lense with a Qtip just dampened with rubbing alcohol. gently rub the pick up lense to remove any dust or dirt on it, you may need to do this a few times if the CD changer is exposed to cigarette smoke etc.
