Question
Hi
I have an petrol Audi A6 which starts fine in cold weather
but in hot weather you have to turn it the ignition for perhaps 12 secs before it starts. its an audi a6 1.8T.
Have put in a new ignition coil and still the same problem.
was serviced a few months ago and still came out with the same problem. hope someone can help me on this one.
Thanks all.

Answer
hello,
did anyone check for any faults in ECM?, was there a fault? what #?
What I always do is, I check for faults, check fuel press. - it has to be around 3.5-4.5 bar, Also , with a scaner connected to engine you can watch ECT (engine coolant temp )sensor and see what it shows on hot starts . I have seen many sensors going bad . Bad ECT sensor most of the time goes open and shows -40 deg. C. This means Engine module thinks that it's very cold and opens wide injectors what cause to flood the spark plug and longer start or no stars sometimes. ECT sensor is nt a big job, you cab just replace it and see if it helps or not.   But , please check for faults and if there is something let me know.
good luck, Greg
