Audi Repair: RADION ON/OFF SWITCH PROBLEM, volume switch, switch problem

Question
The on/off/volume switch is not functioning.  Is this a repairable item or do you have to replace the entire radio.  I have the radio out of the vehicle so have access to all the make/ser.#/model/etc.  bb

Hi,
While the on-off volume switch is indeed an item which can be repaired, it is a job most places will not tackle.  Normally it's quicker and easier as well as cheaper to just replace the whole unit.  It depends if you want to keep the car original, and if you can get the part.  The switch is usually the end part of the volume control, sometimes the metal pins just go loose in the circuit board and a little re-solder fixes it.  But sometimes the switch is bad.  Let me know,  Jan
