Audi Repair: electrical, water shorts, door locks

Question
My girlfriend's 2000 audi a4 wouldn't start,had to jump it,then drove 2 hrs shut off car and wouldn't start again. next day charged battery now car starts but door locks, interior lights do not come on when door opens, but lights work manually, and key remote or alarm does not work. I checked fuses all ok, tried to reset remote as per book, no go.

this may sound crazy , but your car has vacuum operate central locking system , that pump is in the trunk ,r/side behind trunk lining. I have seen a lot of them with water damaged and cousing all kinds of crazy things. Some how the drain gets cloged and water shorts out pump, You can try to locate the pump and check connectors for any rust. If there is any green stuff or rust on the pins, that pump is done.
