Motorcycle Repair: 1965 kawasaki j1t, throttle grip, shift pattern

Question
I read that you own a j1t. Do you have any parts sources for this bike. I am located in Louisville, KY and would appreciate any info concerning this bike. I am missing the throttle grip, headlight bucket, and front fender. I do not have an owners manual either. I heard this bikes have a different shift pattern and I am wondering what position the gears are located. 1 down 3 up or 1 through 4 are all down. Thanks for your time and again I appreciate your help.

Answer
Ramon,

one of my first bikes was a 1967 Kawasaki J1T 85cc (81.5)
I don't have it anymore but it was alot of fun.
Parts are rare due to it's age and because few
of these bikes were imported.

There is a throttle grip on eBay right now I believe.
The owners manual may be available here:

The shift pattern is unusual as it is a rotary
4 speed. You just shift N1234 and back 4321N or
I think you can just go right around like N1234N
forward to neutral again.

Also unusual is the rotary valve intake system.
The carb is in the side cover and the fuel intake
is timed by a rotary disc that opens and closes
the port to the engine at the correct time.
This is to improve low speed torque power.

Best thing for parts is just dig around on
Kawasaki forums, eBay and search online
for parts bikes.
