Cadillac Repair: generator light, forensic evidence consultant expert, last diven with properly cut programmed key

Question
When the car engine gets hot from a long drive and I stop at a stop light the light goes dim and when I step on the gas the generator light goes more bright. This has already burned out the module under the distributor cap. I put a new module in and when the engine is cold the light does not come on. Could the coil be no good? This is an electrical problem. Can you help?

Hello,

I can't help you at all unless you give me the year, make, model year, engine size etc.
Just an example to this is, generators have not been in a GM car since 1962 when they went to alternators in 1963.
Since many questions come from all over the world, I deal with vehicles as old as the 50s and as new as 2012.
