Cadillac Repair: 1991 Deville, air struts, rear struts

QUESTION: I have a lot of questions for you as I'm doing a lot of work on the car.  So thanks in advance.  I recently changed the rear struts which are equipped with the electronic level control.  My manual mentions "pressurizing the suspension system by grounding the compressor test lead in the engine compartment for several seconds to allow the struts to compress slightly..."  My problem is I don't know where the test lead is exactly, nor how to ground it.  Any help would be appreciated as one of the struts I put on is defective and I have to remove and replace.  Thanks Again, Reggie

ANSWER: You CANNOT install manual struts in place of the electronic struts as you will have driveability problems and the

QUESTION: First, I didn't get all of your original answer.  But, I did receive enough to see that you thought I was replacing with manual struts, I am not.  I am replacing with air struts, but need to know how to pressurize the system before dropping the car back to the ground.  The Haynes manual says to ground the test lead on the compressor.  I just need to know where the lead is and how to ground it.  Thanks for your help.  Reggie.

You cannot install non-electronic shocks in this vehicle as it will cause the CHECK ENGINE light to ALWAYS illuminate and may cause the vehicle to start out in SECOND GEAR instead of FIRST GEAR. See if you can get the identical shocks from a salvage yard.
