Cadillac Repair: 1983 Cadillac Seville Code?, cadillac seville, exaust manifold

I was driving and my car had a code 666 blink 3 times in the digital face above the radio last night and has a problem with holding a charge. I got a good battery and alternator as well changed the thermostat and it was also smoking from the aluminum flex hose that goes from the exaust manifold to the air filter housing. What is the code pertaining to and why is the car hot? I have recently replaced the fuel & water pumps thermostat alternator charged the battery changed the oil and filter as well as the air filter. Any help is appreciated.

I have never seen a 666 display.

Try this:

1. ignition switch in the ON position. Do NOT start the engine.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on the AC/Heater control panel and carefully watch the display and it should show 888 in the display and release the above said buttons within 3 seconds.

If you see a 666 and not the 888 this means that one of the digits in the numbers is burnt out. This will require replacement of the AC/Heater control panel.
