Cadillac Repair: 1992 Sedan DeVille, climate control system, fuel line

Question
Last week I bought a '92 Sedan DeVille with a 4.9L.  The car generally seems to be very well maintained.  One owner with only 88k on the odometer (Carfax verifies this).  The day I purchased it I had the plugs, wires and distributor cap replaced.  Had oil changed, radiator flushed and a fuel line cleaning done over the weekend (Oil was black and stinking.  Coolant was a muddy brown color).

Today it started stalling out on me, and when I'd try restart it, it would try, but wouldn't turn over.  Then after two or three attempts, it starts right up and runs perfectly for awhile then it does it again.  I stopped at a garage and it wouldn't start in front of the mechanic, even as he sprayed some fuel line cleaner into the system.  As a result his guess was that it might be an ignition sensor.  Does this sound right to you and/or do you have any other theories?

I'm not sure if I did it right, but I was able to get the computer to flash the following codes after pushing "OFF" and "WARMER" at the same time on the climate control system: E, E13, E31 AND 7.0.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and ideas.

Answer
Clear the codes from the computer and see which ones return.
Push the off and warmer buttons like you did.

When you see the .7.0 Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until you see E.0.0 and release them.

When you see the .7.0 Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and LO buttons until you see F.0.0 and release them.

See if the codes come up as E or EE codes.
