Cadillac Repair: need help, cadillac escalade, door locks

how do i deactivate the anti theft system alarm on my 2000 cadillac escalade . The control works for the door locks but not for the anti theft alarm

Hi Mario,

     If you have an aftermarket system then removing all the fuses, unplugging the module or just cutting all the wires and module out would really be the best.

     If you have the factory alarm then using the factory TechII scan tool will reprogram it and turn it off. So that is something that a shop would need to do. Otherwise if it is malfunctioning then your mechanic will need to diagnose it so that it doesn't cause any problems.

     Some dealers install aftermarket alarms to work with the one that came with the factory setup so you really need to know what you have before it can be deactivated. Bill
