Cadillac Repair: 1994 cadillac el darado, fuse panel, power brakes

my cadillac el darado's instrumental panel will not turn on when i start the car. What may be the cause of that and would you advise or disadvise driving the vehicle in this condition.

First i would check the fuse panel, as for driving the car, as long as you dont speed, you should be fine. But keep in mind that if this is just the start of a chain reaction of a parts failure, you wouldnt want the next link in the chain to be the power brakes or steering.
