-----Question-----
You have helped me with several problems in the past and thank you for that.  My check engine light comes on inetvertantly some times it comes on and then goes off
sometimes you have to restart the car and it will go off and not come on again for weeks.  Is there a code in the computer even tho the light goes off.  The last time this happened it was a relay I am guessing that it may be the case again. Does not effect the care at all. Will there be a codeis my question?
Thanks again. I plan to get rid of this car soon it has had too many problems for me.
-----Answer-----
1. ignition ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Diagnostic codes willl appear. Write down these codes EXACTLY as they appear on the screen and let me know what they are.

Answer
27 = open throttle switch circuit which is part of the IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR.

30 = IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR out of range.

55 = battery was disconnected at some point in the past.

70 = NOT a code . is just for another test procedure sequence.

1. make sure that the minimum idle speed is adjusted properly. FIRST.

2. Probable faulty IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR or faulty/misadjusted THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR.
