Cadillac Repair: 88 Eldorado Codes, cadillac eldorado, instrument panel

Hi.  I have a 1988 Cadillac Eldorado 4.5L.  The dash and instrument panel cluster shuts down after the car has been running a few minutes.  No lights at all.  A second or two before this happens you can hear what appears to be a fan cutting on.  After several tries I managed to pull these codes E047 Current, E052 History, and B552 History.  Also the Engine Control System light comes on ONLY when this happens.  I'm guessing this is related to this problem.  Can you tell me what all this means and how I can fix it myself?

The instrument panel needs to be sent out for updated electronic components and the BCM computer needs to be replaced.
