Cadillac Repair: mechanical switch 1989 caddy sevelle, wiring schematics, cadillac dealer

Question
the original switch with a chip was replaced with another switch without a chip,it is now bad and was stuck on on posistion ,when i removed it i saw a white wire cut that i think went to the switch.now it wont let me start car it says starter disabled due to anti theft,it says remove key from switch, but the switch is out of coloum already, the rod with tumblers at switch location will move up and down, it seems like rod is broke, im not sure before it locked u could hook battery up and it was already engaged cause it woyuld start u just couldnt stop it, without killing it, is rod and ignition switch both need replaced.thank u

Answer
That white wire is supposed to be attached to the ignition switch as the original key had a resistor chip in it and this wire being disconnected has your anti-theft activated.

You have got a major job on your hands. Without wiring schematics and a new ignition key and ignition lock and reattaching this white wire and then you have to have a Cadillac dealer re-program the chip in the key to match the anti-theft controller.

Unless your really good with electronics so as to be able to bypass the anti-theft system your pretty well out of luck.
