Cadillac Repair: I have a 1989 cadillac fleetwood..., 1989 cadillac fleetwood, cadillac fleetwood

Question
I have a 1989 cadillac fleetwood (fwd), I replaced the battery in the car and since i did that  my blower motor for my climate control hasn't kick on. and my fuel level reading seems to be not right. Everything else in dealing with the a/c system is working. Any information would be greatly appreciated in solving this problem.
THANK YOU

Answer
Hi Jay, Hopefully you didn't have the key on when doing this as that can damage alot of things. There isn't any reason that changeing the battery should do this so maybe the parts were weak and would have gone bad soon anyway. Sounds like you need to test the systems starting with the fuses for being good and getting power to them. A bad ignition switch will send power to some fuses but not all. A fuse link might have burned up and again testing with a 12 volt test light or digital meter and a shop manual will help narrow down the problem area. Bill
